Samsung SM-A546E · Android 14»).
سياسة خصوصية جوجل: policies.google.com/privacy.

Privacy Policy

The app this policy covers
This policy covers the "مطعم الدمشقي" (eldamascis) app on Google Play and on the App Store, and these pages. We publish no other app.
Who we are
Demashki Restaurant (مطعم الدمشقي), Syrian cuisine — Damanhour, Beheira Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt. Hotline 17871, email abdevpersonalmail@gmail.com. We are the controller of the data described here.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, phone number, and delivery address if the order is for delivery, together with the contents of the order and any notes you wrote. Without these the food cannot reach you. If you are signed in at the time, your email address is sent with the order itself and stored on it — so the branch can send you a confirmation, and so the order appears in your order history.
- If you create an account (optional): your email address, so we can send you a sign-in code and keep your orders together. The account is offered after you place an order, never before, and the app is fully usable without one.
- If you set a password: most people sign in with a code sent to their inbox and never need a password. A password route exists as well, for people a mailed code does not reach and for store reviewers. If you use it, we store a bcrypt hash of the password — not the password itself, and nobody here can read it back.
-
If the app crashes: the error message, the stack trace,
the screen it happened on, the app version, the platform name (android or
ios), and a description of the device:
- on Android — the manufacturer, the model and the Android version (in this form: "Samsung SM-A546E · Android 14").
- on iPhone — the hardware identifier and the iOS version (in this form: "iPhone14,5 · iOS 18.2"). That is the model identifier, not the name you gave your phone.
How your orders are linked together
- If you are signed in when you order, the order attaches to your account.
- If you order as a guest, the server counts the earlier orders carrying the same phone number, so the branch can see that you have ordered before and how often. That number is compared only against this restaurant's own orders, and goes nowhere else.
- When you sign in, guest orders carrying the same email address are attached to the account.
What we do not collect
- Your location — the app never asks for location permission and sends no coordinates.
- Contacts, photos, camera, calendar, or anything else on your phone.
- Advertising identifiers or any cross-app identifier. (The notification token described below identifies the device only and follows you nowhere else.)
- There is no analytics SDK and no ad network in the app at all.
Offer notifications
You can choose to let the app notify you when a new offer starts. This is entirely optional: the app asks you in plain words before the system permission prompt appears, and you can switch it off at any time from the "حسابك" screen in a single tap.
When you agree, your phone registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google's notification service, and is issued a device token. That token:
- identifies the device, not you — it is not linked to your name, phone number, account or orders.
- is used for one thing only: delivering the offer notifications you asked for.
- is not used for tracking and is never combined with data from other apps or websites.
- reaches Google in its role as the notification service provider. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- stops being used the moment you turn notifications off; the subscription is cancelled.
Notifications are sent to all subscribers at once rather than to any one person, and we keep no record of who received what.
Voice notes and voice ordering
The app can record a voice note describing your order. That recording is written to a temporary file inside the app's cache on your phone and is not sent to us — you choose which app receives it from your phone's share sheet (usually WhatsApp). If you tap "record again" it is deleted immediately; if you close the sheet leaving a recording you neither sent nor discarded, the file can remain in the cache until the system clears the cache or you clear the app's data. Either way it never reaches us.
The app can also take an order by speech. So that Egyptian Arabic is understood properly, the app asks the operating system's speech recogniser for its network model rather than its on-device one. Plainly: while you are speaking in the voice-ordering sheet, your audio goes to Google's speech recognition service on Android, or to Apple's on iPhone, and the text comes back.
- This happens only while the voice-ordering sheet is open and you are speaking, and stops when you close it.
- What is sent is the audio of you saying your order — nothing else from the phone.
- That audio never reaches the restaurant and we never store it. We see the resulting text, and only when you send the order.
- What Google or Apple do with the audio is governed by their privacy policies, not by ours.
- If you would rather this did not happen: do not use voice ordering. You can type your order in the same sheet, or record a voice note and send it to the branch yourself — neither passes through Google or Apple.
Stored on your phone, not with us
This is everything the app keeps on your device, and nothing else:
- The name, phone number and delivery address you last typed, so you do not type them again.
- Your cart, and the items you marked as favourites.
- A copy of the menu and the date it was last refreshed, so the app works without internet.
- Your session token if you are signed in — valid for 30 days, and removed the moment you sign out or delete your account.
None of these is sent to us on its own, and deleting the app (or clearing its data) deletes all of them.
Who sees your data
The branch staff preparing your order, and no one else. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Outside the restaurant there are three parties, and this is all of them:
- An email (SMTP) provider: it delivers sign-in codes, and also the order confirmation email sent when a branch confirms your order and we have an address for you — containing the order number, the branch name, the items and the total.
- A hosting provider: the server and its database run there.
- A speech recognition service (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone): it receives your audio while you are voice ordering, and only then, as described above.
Each sees only what that service requires.
If you choose to send your order over WhatsApp, the message leaves the app and enters WhatsApp, where WhatsApp's privacy policy applies.
How we keep it safe
- All traffic between the app and the server runs over encrypted HTTPS — and the release builds on both Android and iOS are configured to refuse cleartext connections outright.
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, never as readable text.
- Sign-in codes are stored hashed too, not in the form that reached you — and a code is burned the first time it is used, and locked after five wrong attempts.
- The order dashboard is limited to the restaurant staff who work on it.
No system anywhere is 100% secure — we state exactly what we do, and promise nothing beyond it.
How long we keep it
- Orders: retained as restaurant and tax records.
- Account data: for as long as the account exists.
- Sign-in codes: valid for 10 minutes, and burned the first time they are used so they cannot be used again. Expired codes are removed from the database in routine cleanup. If you delete your account, any code for your address is deleted in the same moment.
- Crash reports: written to a file on the restaurant's server. When that file passes 2 MB it becomes a single backup copy and a new file starts; the next rotation replaces that backup — so roughly the two most recent generations exist at any time.
Deleting your account
Removed immediately: your name, email, phone, saved addresses, and the link between you and any past order.
Retained: the orders themselves, as anonymous sales records in the restaurant's books, which we are required to keep for accounting.
The full detail — and how to have it done without opening the app at all — is on the account and data deletion page.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, its correction, or its deletion. Contact us on the hotline 17871, on the restaurant's WhatsApp, or by email at abdevpersonalmail@gmail.com, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
